History about the Danish Language:


Danish is known to be the official language and the local language of Denmark. The Danish language is even taught in a few countries and schools as well. Communities living at the south of the border of Germany also speak Danish. Every era brought some changes in the Danish language as well. For example, in the middle Ages the caste system was lost of this language and the genders, male and female, were taken as one gender.

· The Origin of Danish Language:


Danish is a language that is derived from the Old Norse and known to be a North Germanic language. It is similar to Swedish and the Medieval Danish. In the 12th century, the medieval Danish evolved from the Old Danish.  


· A Popular Language of Greenland:

Danish is also spoken in Greenland by 20% of the locals that includes few communities. That is why the Danish language is also considered to be an official language of Green Land.


· New Words can be Created as Compound Words:

As Dutch and German make compound words and then add them to their dictionary, Danish also does the same. They combine a set of words to make a new word. These are the compound words that they make then to be new and give them a meaning according to the meaning of those of compound words. These words are also known to be the long words.


· Danish can Speak and Understand Swedish and Norwegian:

Danish can also understand Swedish and Norwegian! It seems like they can speak several languages. This is because the sounds and the grammar of both languages are almost the same. The majority of the words and the grammar rules and tones of the sounds are common.


· Make a little Creaky Sound to Speak Danish:

Now, this is a pretty challenging part for the speakers who are non-native and are still trying to cope up with this language. These are some words that might sound similar or have the same pronunciation. The only thing that can differentiate is when you make sounds or maybe a little creaky sound.


· Danish has different Genders:

This is the most interesting part of Danish. The Danish language does have genders but they are not masculine and feminine. They differentiate these genders as neuter and common.


· Vowels of the Danish Language:

As compared to English, three more vowels are found in the Danish language. Hey have different tones as well.
